How Cistaz-AV 2.5 works

This is a combination, and each component has a distinct role. Ceftazidime blocks the transpeptidase enzymes bacteria use to cross-link their cell wall. Without those cross-links the wall cannot hold internal pressure and the cell bursts. Human cells have no cell wall at all, which is why beta-lactams are among the best-tolerated antibiotics in medicine. Ceftazidime is one of the few cephalosporins with reliable activity against Pseudomonas aeruginosa, which is why it holds its place in hospital protocols. Avibactam has little antibacterial action of its own. Its job is to be attacked. Resistant bacteria defend themselves by producing beta-lactamase enzymes that break the antibiotic's beta-lactam ring; the inhibitor binds those enzymes and occupies them, so the antibiotic passes through intact. That is why the combination works where the antibiotic alone no longer does. Avibactam is a newer, non-beta-lactam inhibitor that covers classes of enzyme -- including many carbapenemases -- that sulbactam and tazobactam cannot touch. That places this combination among the reserve agents, for infections where the usual options have failed. Supplying them in one vial means the pair is reconstituted and given together, in the ratio intended.

Why ChooseCistaz-AV 2.5?

Manufactured at a WHO-GMP certified facility in a dedicated injectable block, under GLP, ISO and GMP norms. With an injectable the only thing that truly matters is what a patient will not see: sterility, absence of pyrogens, and freedom from particulate matter. Every batch is tested for all three before release, alongside assay and stability. Vials, stoppers and seals are sourced from approved vendors and checked at intake. Offered to PCD franchise partners and to institutional buyers on district-wise monopoly rights, with pan-India supply and complete promotional support.
