How Lupidol-P works

This is a combination, and each component addresses a different part of the problem. Paracetamol raises the pain threshold centrally and acts on the hypothalamic centre that sets body temperature, which is what brings a fever down. It has little peripheral anti-inflammatory action, so it is combined with an anti-inflammatory rather than used in place of one. Flupirtine is a selective neuronal potassium channel opener. By stabilising the nerve cell membrane it reduces the transmission of pain signals, and it also relaxes muscle tone. It is not an NSAID and not an opioid, which gives it a different profile from both. Together in one tablet they cover more of what is actually causing the pain than any single agent would.
