How Overil-A works

This is a combination, and each component addresses a different part of the problem. Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs block cyclo-oxygenase, the enzyme that converts arachidonic acid into prostaglandins. Prostaglandins are what sensitise nerve endings to pain and drive the swelling and redness of inflammation, so reducing them addresses the pain and the inflammation behind it rather than the sensation alone. Centrally acting muscle relaxants work on the spinal cord and brainstem rather than on the muscle itself. They damp down the reflex loops that hold a muscle in spasm, so the muscle releases. This matters because in most back and neck pain the spasm is itself a source of pain, and treating the inflammation alone leaves that part untouched. Together in one tablet they cover more of what is actually causing the pain than any single agent would.
