How Amroxil CV 625 LB works

Amoxycillin inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis by binding to penicillin-binding proteins. Many organisms resist this by producing beta-lactamase enzymes that break the amoxycillin molecule apart before it can act. Clavulanic acid binds those enzymes and holds them inactive, so the amoxycillin reaches its target intact. The combination therefore restores activity against several beta-lactamase producing organisms that plain amoxycillin no longer covers. Lactic acid bacillus is included alongside the antibiotic. Antibiotic courses disturb the balance of organisms in the gut, and the probiotic spores are added to help maintain that balance during treatment.
