How Taurib-Plus works

This is a combination, and each component addresses a different part of the problem. This is a COX-2 selective inhibitor. Cyclo-oxygenase exists in two forms: COX-1 maintains the protective lining of the stomach, while COX-2 is produced mainly at sites of inflammation. Targeting COX-2 preferentially aims to keep the anti-inflammatory effect while leaving more of the stomach's own protection intact. Paracetamol raises the pain threshold centrally and acts on the hypothalamic centre that sets body temperature, which is what brings a fever down. It has little peripheral anti-inflammatory action, so it is combined with an anti-inflammatory rather than used in place of one. Together in one tablet they cover more of what is actually causing the pain than any single agent would.
