How Ovaceive works

This is a combination, and each component handles a different part of the problem. Myo-inositol and D-chiro-inositol are messengers inside the cell that carry the insulin signal onward. In polycystic ovary syndrome the cells respond poorly to insulin, and the raised insulin that results drives the ovary to make excess androgen -- which is what blocks ovulation. Supplying inositol improves that signalling. The 40:1 ratio used here is the one the ovary maintains naturally. L-methylfolate is required for the neural tube to close properly in the first four weeks of pregnancy, often before a pregnancy is even confirmed, and for the DNA synthesis that rapid cell division demands. That timing is why supplementation is advised before conception rather than after. L-methylfolate is the already-active form. Ordinary folic acid has to be converted by the MTHFR enzyme, and a substantial proportion of people carry a variant that converts it poorly -- supplying the active form bypasses that step entirely.
