How Ritzy works

Kaolin and bentonite are clays that carry a negative surface charge, which lets them bind and lift the positively charged impurities and excess sebum sitting on skin. As the mask dries it draws oil out of the pore openings. Zinc oxide and menthol are added to calm and cool the skin while that happens. Salicylic acid is oil-soluble, which is what separates it from the other exfoliating acids: it can travel into the pore rather than working only on the surface. Inside, it dissolves the plug of sebum and dead cells that starts a blocked pore. That is why it is the acid used for acne-prone and oily skin, while the water-soluble acids are used for texture and tone.
